Recognized by a National Consumer Magazine as the top hospital in North Carolina for Surgical safety and quality, Pardee UNC Health Care is a growing, dynamic, not-for profit county-owned hospital. Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital is licensed for 222 acute care beds and is a sophisticated full service hospital. In addition to the main hospital complex, Pardee operates a two Urgent Care Centers, home health services, a mall-based Pardee Signature Care - community health education center, an outpatient rehab & sports therapy complex, a womens health center, a comprehensive cancer program, as well as several primary care and specialty practices. Pardee is instrumental in training rural-tract family medicine residents through the Hendersonville/MAHEC Family Practice Residency Program. New practices include primary and specialty practices within a new 80,000 square foot office building on a new a health campus located in Fletcher, NC (9 miles from downtown Asheville). Pardee is noted for outreach in the community through wellness and prevention services, as well as for high-tech diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The hospital is fully accredited by Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, Inc. (DNV) a CMS and NIAHO approved accreditation organization. Pardee Hospital has a 27-bed Emergency Department ranked among the top 10 in NC for Treatment of Stroke and is a Five-Star Award* Recipient for Treatment of Stroke. Pardee Hospital is designated as the first and only Stroke Capable Hospital in Henderson County by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services.
